Blogger on Android

Good news for all Android Folks! Blogger has released an official Android App. It's simple and neat and does the job perfectly. You can create a post or make drafts from your android device. If you are an android user, try it out!
Features:

  • Switch between Google Accounts as in any other Google Android App
  • Publish posts or save drafts
  • Upload photos from your android gallery, or take one on the fly with the mobile camera and post it
  • Share your location and geotag your post.
  • Share your Gallery images easily to Blogger. ( A blogger option will be added to your Share Menu)
  • View and Edit saved Drafts/ Published Posts made from the mobile app(not the ones that already exist)

You can find more details about all these features at the Blogger Buzz post.
The app does a neat job though it doesn’t give you much power in formatting your posts properly. This is the first ever version of the official Android App, so maybe we could expect many more features in the future.

Google Wedding; just when you thought they had everything..

Google introduced a service for creating a website for 'your big day'. It offers a photo page (through Picnik) and a photo album (through Google's own Picasa), a guest list and 20 wedding-friendly layouts, design by Michelle Rago.
Moreover, Google is holding a $25,000 sweepstakes and free consultation with celebrity wedding planner Michelle Rago.
The site is the latest attempt by Google to insinuate itself into consumers’ lifestyles. In 2008, Google launched Google Health, which is designed to let users organize, monitor, track and use health information on the site. But there’s a thin line between providing helpful information and invading privacy: In 2009, Google Health partnered with CVS to provide patients online access to their prescription drug history via their Google Health accounts, raising issues about Google’s access to sensitive personal information.

It's not 1984 anymore

Great ad by Motorola, shown at the Super Bowl. This one minute-ad cost them around $6 million. Would Orwell turn in his grave if he sees this ad?

My first blog!

Hello, anonymice!

Let me introduce myself. I am Alex, a 23 year old (male) student at Tilburg University. This blog is a mandatory component for the Business Information Technology course I follow. In the next weeks and months you can find all sorts of posts about the use (and misuse) of social media, in particular the use of IT by companies.

Stick around, I hope you enjoy it!
